Tall, Dark & Heartless is here..........but with a few delays
Tall, Dark & Heartless was released on Tuesday to Smashwords, B&N, and Amazon.com. As some of you have noticed, it’s not at ibooks yet. It will be, but since ibooks has a very difficult system set up for selling books I had to go through Smashwords.com. Once they’ve approved my book for distribution it will be sent out to ibooks, Sony and the rest of the stores. Unfortunately, it could take up to two weeks before it shows up in ibooks. I’m sorry about that. I wish that all the markets had it at the same time.
I’m stalking Smashwords every day to see when it’s been approved for distribution and then it’s just a matter of them shipping it off. I really hope it’s soon. I’m very sorry for the delay. As soon as it’s released at ibooks I’ll announce it.
In other news, I am getting back to the 3rd NFH book so hopefully that will be up soon 🙂

I got a friend of mine addicted to your books, and she texted me last night when I was getting my daughter to bed that it was on the nook. Let’s just say I didn’t get much sleep last night lol, and my daughter decided to wake up at 6am too. But it was well worth it, loved it. Excited for more… thanks.

You should, writing books people can’t put down should be a crime lol. Anyways, I’m a full time college student, and a mother, I never sleep….. so don’t feel too bad. Reading until my husband forces me to go to sleep is our nightly routine.

For sure I’m not the only one who’s curious about Joshua and Jill. Will you make a spin-off series for vampires and whatever paranormal species Joshua is or are they gonna be kept under the Pyte-Sentinel Series?
When do you intend to start writing Jill and Logan’s story? Will they have one full book someday or are they just gonna be a subplot? 🙂

Thank you 🙂 I’m glad that you enjoyed it. Jill and Logan’s book is next and is the start of the Immortality series. Old characters might show up, but it will be separate from the Pyte/Sentinel Series. Joshua will be getting his story eventually, but I have plans for him first 🙂

Just started reading it last night. I can’t put it down…..I’m at work and I’m trying very hard to focus and not pick up my kindle. Lunch time can’t get here soon enough! LOL! Love your work! When do you think the 3rd NFH book will be released? Will it be the continuation of the story of the back of the 2nd NFH book?

I love your stories! I found I am addicted. The first book of yours I read was Tall, Dark & Lonely. I enjoyed it tremendously, something different from other vampire books. You have placed tragedy situations with Ephraim’s history and Madison’s as well, with the suspense of mystery and love of soul mates. The story had me wanting more so I read Without Regret, which kept me more engrossed. So I wanted more…Then at the end of the book it showed a sneak peek of the next Pyte novel which was to be about Cloe and Christofer. So I decided I’ll wait and went on to purchase your other books the A Neighbor from Hell series, which I was also captivated by. So now I am truly a big fan. Now, I find myself checking your website and my Kindle to see if any new books pop up. Which on a few days ago Tall, Dark and Heartless did. So instantly I bought it! I was surprised the story wasn’t about Cloe and Christofer but that didn’t keep me from enjoying the book, it just let me know you will have more to come. With the comedy between Izzy and Kale being junk food junkies, I am hoping to find a story with Kale Quinn and him unexpectedly finding his soul mate. Thank you oh so very much for your great stories!

Just finished and I LOVED it!!! I cannot wait to read about Logan and Jill, and Joshua! And I agree with the other commenter who mentioned a Kale Quinn story, and if I could throw it in the bunch, maybe a Jax story? Can’t wait for what’s next….(tho I’m hoping for the next NFH book!)
See, I have family invading Sunday for my daughters 3rd (aka 13th) b-day and I will be gone most of tomorrow and I have to white glove my house! Thanks to this new book, it didn’t get done. So if my MIL says anything (she does sometimes) I’m soooo blaming you!! Oh and I’m loving it so far 🙂

Me and my iPad are starving for Tall, Dark and Heartless… the moment it hits iBooks i will be reading. At least the 5 chapter preview on Amazon and the exemplar you posted have kept me going so far. I can’t wait! and also the next NFH book is something i desperately look forward to 🙂

For all of those who don’t have nooks or Kindles, there is a Kindle app that can be downloaded for free from the App store to iPhones, iPads, and Macs. This way you can buy from Amazon. I couldn’t wait for iBooks any longer so I had to get the Kindle app!

I format books for a living and I wanted to say that this last book is formatted very well. Looks better than some of the NYT bestseller books that I have read. So whoever formats for you, deserves BIG kudos 🙂

We’re not sure. It could take a couple of weeks. We’re hoping that it’s faster than that 🙂
Any new news on tall dark and heartless? I have been eagerly waiting for it on iBooks and have read more books in the past months then usual to take min of the wait! In other words I can not wait to read it!

I finished Tall, Dark and Heartless a few hours ago… and I now feel lost without anymore of your writing R.L! Caine and Danni are so sweet together and I had so many giggles along the way 🙂 I love that they’re with Ephraim, Madison and all of the gang. I can’t wait to read more in this series to uncover what happens with Jill and Joshua next!! I tried to stretch the book over as many days as I could but it was just too damn hooking with Caine especially :p
I now look forward to the NFH book . . . Oh how your work brings such joy to my life – haaha!! x

OH MY GOSH! Just finished Tall, Dark & Heartless! After reading teh first two books in one day I was so excited for this one to come out and I read it in less time that I even thought possible! Spent most of the day in bed reading and it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it! Cant wait for more! Infact, ill take another NFH book too thanks! Started and finished Perfection yesterday and then went straight on to Tall, Dark & Heartless today. I love your writing, even in such different styles. Think I’m gonna start Sudden Response now!
Danni and Caine are definitely my favorite Pyte/Sentinel couple so far, I love both of them! I can’t help but wonder, will they have children together? I know they both said they didn’t want children, but it was quite early in the book and I wonder if they’ll change their mind some day ^.^
I’m looking forward to book #4 of the series anyway, and I’m really really looking forward your new Immortality series, for I definitely want to know more about Jill and Logan, and Kale Quinn and Jax and Joshua… and whoever new you may introduce to us ^.^
Of course, I’m also eager to read NFH #3, EMS #2 and so on ^.^ I must say, you’re one of the very few authors who reconciled me with contemporary romance, and I’ve liked all your books so far! Thank you for that 🙂

I really enjoyed getting to know Danni and Caine as well 🙂 No immortal series, Maura, one of my very talented editors, made a good point that it might get too confusing since a lot of the same characters from the Pyte/Sentinel series would be in it so we’re just going to keep them in this series 🙂 Jill’s story comes after Christofer’s which will be the next Pyte/Sentinel book.

Those are amazing news! I’ve been looking forward to Cloe and Christofer’s story too, so I’m quite happy theirs is next, even if it means I _ and every body else _ will have to wait a bit longer to know what happens to Jill and Logan 😉
In the meanwhile, I’ll keep myself busy with you Hollywood Hearts series, the only one I haven’t read yet, and, hopefully, book #3 of the Neighbor from Hell series will be released soon enough 😀
I came across your NFH books first and then onto the Pyte series. I’ve never been into the whole vampire thing but loved these books. Unfortunately, I got a little confused and read them in order 1, 3 then 2!!! But thankfully it all makes sense now. I so can’t wait until the next one, please please do it soon!!! I feel lost now I’ve finished the books!

I love love love love and did I say love you as an author!! I started off with the NFH series and read each of them about 3 times. Then I went on to the pyte/sentinel series and fell in love all over again. Such a great twist with this new kind of human vampire thing and I cannot wait for your next book. I’m dying to see what happens next with Joshua and what he has turned into especially after kale spoke to him and he responded in such an evil way. Please give me something more and hopefully soon cuz I can’t take the wait. I’m on to A Humble Heart now and will probably be finished in a day so please keep your books coming!!!!

Hi i would just like to say BLOODY FANTASTIC. I have just finished reading A Pyte/Sentinel Series and i am now left waiting and wanting the next book. This is not normally my sort of book but my god u have me hooked. Will there be new faces? What happens to Jill? What is Joshua up 2? So many questions to be answered. Now all i have to figure out is what book to read next while i wait for the next Pyte/Sentinel book if there is one?
I read all three of the pyte/sentinel books in the space of two days. I thought they were amazing and really well written. However I got a bit confused at the end of the the second book without regret the story of cloe and christofer was told. Where do I go to read their story?
I just wanted to say I love your books. I started with NFH and continued on to your Pyte/Sentinel series. I really hope your doing well during your recovery. As you can see everyone is dying to see what else you do for these series. I was reading the comments and see that I am like many. I read all 6 books in no time flat, I am a walking Zombie. I wanted to thank you for the wonderful books! Ive read all of them that I could find. I started with NFH series and then progressed to the Pyte/Sentinel series and so on and Ive had trouble doing anything else! When I pick up a good book its hard to put down and all of your books were hard to put down. My ipad, iphone and nook have been severely over used in the past two weeks. Anxiously awaiting more
As you can tell by name I am really not shocked or surprised by much of what I read. Nor am I ever left on a cliff to where I go and search for more. R. L. Mathewson, you are simple wonderful! I have a collection of many books and the Pyte series has me searching and craving for more. I want and need to know more about Joshua. He’s out there and what kept him so silent, what is he doing and more than anything “What Is He”! You took me out of my element to where I thought I was actually in the room with Ephriem and Chris. I laughed with them and cried for them. I screamed when Chris corned Caine in the house when he said that he had it dad. I know you are on your other series but please let me know when book 4 is out so I can continue reading yours awesome adventures.

I have fallen hard for the PYTE series. I too want to know what is to become of Joshua, will Marc be okay? Is logan going to be a good guy or will he just use Jill and she needs to finally find her hapiness. I so love this series I don’t want to rush your creative flow but I am going into withdrawals here…
I have been squeezing your books in during the day. Even taking bathroom breaks to read. Love every word and the fact that I laugh out loud about these characters conversations ceases to amaze me. Keep them coming please.
