Reader Cruise Disclaimers & Policies
We are so excited to have you join us for an unforgettable experience on our Reader Cruise! To ensure that everyone has the best time possible, please review the following policies and disclaimers before purchasing your ticket. By booking your cruise and purchasing an event ticket, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Event Ticket & Booking Policy
We’ve worked hard to put together a special experience for our attendees, and to make that possible, event tickets are only available to readers who book their cruise through our designated travel agent at the group rate.
- Event tickets cannot be purchased unless you have booked a room through our travel agent. This ensures that our group receives exclusive perks, such as private event spaces, group activities, and swag.
- If you book your cruise directly through Royal Caribbean or an outside source, you will not be eligible to purchase an event ticket or attend private cruise events.
- Event tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another reader who has booked through our travel agent at the group rate.
- If you are unable to attend the cruise, you have the option to pay for postage to receive your swag by mail.
We appreciate your understanding—this policy helps us create the best possible experience for everyone!
2. Age Requirement & Adult-Only Environment
This event is designed for adults who want to relax, connect, and have fun without the distractions of a kid-friendly setting. To maintain this atmosphere:
- All attendees must be at least 16 years old.
- Attendees under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Anyone under 16 years old will not be permitted to enter any event spaces, and their ticket will be immediately voided without a refund.
We understand that many of our readers have families, and while we love kids, this event is meant to be a stress-free getaway where adults can fully enjoy themselves.
🚢 Royal Caribbean offers babysitting and kids’ club programs for younger travelers! If you’re bringing family along, we encourage you to check out the cruise line’s childcare options so that you can enjoy the reader events worry-free.

3. Personal Responsibility & Travel Liability Disclaimer
To help you avoid unnecessary stress and travel complications, we highly recommend that all attendees arrive at least one day before the cruise departs. This reduces the risk of missing the cruise due to travel delays and gives you time to settle in before we set sail.
- The event organizer is not responsible for any travel-related issues. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Missed flights, delays, cancellations, or airline-related problems.
- Hotel or lodging issues before or after the cruise.
- Cruise line delays, itinerary changes, or cancellations.
- Issues with passports, visas, or other travel documentation.
- Problems with ground transportation, including taxis, ride-shares, and shuttles.
- Weather-related disruptions affecting travel.
- Any additional expenses incurred due to travel disruptions.
- Attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations, delays, or emergencies.
- If an attendee misses the cruise for any reason, event tickets remain non-refundable. However, they may:
- Transfer their ticket to another reader who booked through our travel agent.
- Request to have their swag shipped for an additional postage fee.
This disclaimer ensures that all responsibility for travel logistics and issues falls on the attendee and not the event organizer.
4. Event Schedule & Changes
- The event schedule, including activities, author meet-ups, and group events, is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
- While we will do everything we can to keep the planned schedule, adjustments may be necessary, and we appreciate your flexibility!
5. Conduct & Behavior
We want this cruise to be a fun, safe, and welcoming space for everyone!
- All attendees are expected to behave respectfully.
- Harassment, inappropriate behavior, or disruptive conduct may result in removal from events or being reported to cruise security.
- The cruise line’s health and safety policies must be followed at all times.
6. Photography & Media Release
- By attending, you acknowledge that photos and videos may be taken during events and may be used for promotional purposes.
- If you prefer not to be photographed, please inform us in advance so we can accommodate your request.
7. Refund & Cancellation Policy
- All event ticket sales are final and non-refundable.
- If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another reader who has booked through our travel agent at the group rate.
- If you cannot attend, you may request to have your swag shipped to you for an additional postage fee.
8. Third-Party Vendor Disclaimer
Some optional excursions, services, or activities during the cruise may be provided by third-party vendors. Please note:
- The event organizer is not responsible for issues arising from third-party services, including cancellations, safety concerns, or service disputes.
- Any excursions or services booked outside of the official reader group are not affiliated with the event.
