Welcome to the R.L. Mathewson Newsletter!
Since this is my first newsletter I thought I’d take this opportunity to give everyone an update on what’s been going on and to answers questions that I’ve received.
First, yes, yes I am alive, lol.
It’s been a crazy time since Delectable, the 9th Neighbor from Hell, was published last year. Since then several books should have been published, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. I had to take a year off, technically, to take care of things going on in my family.
We moved down to Florida at the end of 2016 and finally got a chance at a real fresh start where we felt safe for the first time in our lives. It was a life-changing move for us. Definitely the best decision that we could have made, but with that decision came some obstacles, some great, some not so good, but they’ve worked out in the end. I have spent the last year and a half homeschooling my oldest after she was bullied in school and let me tell you, it was not a fun time.
But, we got through it, she’s been given a chance this year to go to a different school along with her brother so right now, things are going well and I can finally, finally, get back to writing.
So, that brings us to the next topic…
Reed Bradford is Mark’s son. You met him briefly in Playing for Keeps. He was one of Jason’s uncles who was taking immense joy out of tormenting Jason about Haley. Mark is married to Emily. They have two sons, Reed, the oldest who took over the family’s house, and Matt, the younger pain in the ass brother who took over the Bradford family business, Bradford Furniture. This of course will lead us to the next question…
Sighs, well…
Aidan’s book is about 35% done I believe, however, it’s not going to work the way it is. The book is way too serious for a Neighbor from Hell novel. I tried to work on it this past year when I got the chance, but no matter what I did I couldn’t fix it. So, I put it aside for right now and have been thinking about it now and then to figure out where I went wrong. Once I finish The Promise and catch up on the other books that are backed up, I plan to return to it, which brings up…
Where’s our Pyte book, woman? The next EMS? Honeymoon from Hell? Anger management? and Cursed Heart novel? The YA novels?
Well…
I can tell you that Devastated and Furious, the first two Anger Management novels are off to a very good start. Both past the 30% mark. I believe Devastated will be the first novel in that series published. That should be within the next year.
Tall, Dark & Furious, the next Pyte novel, will be worked on after The Promise is published. This story is about Trace, Ethan’s son. You met Ethan briefly in Tall, Dark & Heartless. His son went missing years ago and he’s been looking for him ever since. These are brand new characters that will bring us to Kale’s story, which is Unstoppable. That book has already been started, but I needed a little more to get it going, which is where TDF comes in. After that I have a few options that include vampires and demons for the series as well as Jill’s book.
The next EMS book will be Nathan’s. His book is already started.
The 3rd and 4th Hollywood Hearts novels have also already been started. The 3rd one is over 20% done.
Shayne’s book, the next book in the Cursed Hearts novel has not officially been started, but I already know what his part in the story is and where it needs to go.
The YA series will be started in the next year as well. I was really hoping to have Misunderstood and First Blood out by now. Like I said, it’s been a crazy year, but things are getting better.
I’d also like to thank everyone for standing by me and waiting patiently for the next books. I know how frustrating it can be to be forced to wait for a book. You have my deepest apologies and thanks for the past year.
With that being said, I will be posting exclusive excerpts and giveaways through this newsletter in the future.
