Need a little support....and advice on how to sabotage someone's diet :)

Part of my plan to return to work is to handle my health issues on the side, but with a little fun 🙂 A few of my author friends (L.D. Davis & Lisa M. Harley) want to lose weight, get healthy, raise money for some great charities and screw each other over for fun 🙂

My charities are The Ronald McDonald House and The Make A Wish Foundation. I’m hoping raise an obscene amount of money for these great causes and I could really use your help and support.

Below you’ll find our release for this challenge that starts on May 1st.

Author Drop is a diet challenge that we created to raise money and awareness for some great causes, keep us inspired to reach our goals and to give us a reason to completely screw each other over all for a good cause.

This challenge will start on May 1, 2013 and end on May 1, 2014. Our goal is to lose weight and inches by eating healthy,  exercising, while raising money for a good cause and having a little fun.  Each author has their own charity as well as set amount to donate per pound and activity. Once the challenge is over we will make our donations to our charity(ies) of our choice.

Every week we will weigh in  and share our results on the Author Drop Facebook page (www.facebook.com/authordrop) and website (https://authordrop.com). You can also follow our progress at Sparkpeople.com and Buddy us if you would like 🙂 Our Sparkpeople.com names will be added shorty to our profiles.

Of course there will be trash talking, attempts to sabotage each other and pranks to keep us entertained and focused on our goals 🙂

The winner will be the author who has lost the largest percentage of body weight and that winner will get a prize and bragging rights for life.

Thank you in advance for your support 🙂

OK, my mother-in-law is queen of this. On the one hand praising you for your hard work, while offering you some naughty snack, dessert or meal.

You could always invite them out to dinner to discuss their progress and encourage a few drinks as well as yummy appetizers, but then you would have to be super diligent not to succumb as well.

Of course, all of you could be obscenely successful and raise a ton of money for your favorite charities and at the same time, just encourage each other…

As far as pranks go, it depends on how much access you have to each other’s lives. Like… for example cell phones… I doubt computers, but if you did, high jacking would be funny, as long as you didn’t destroy their work. Well, as I sit here and think of some of the funnier pranks I’ve done, access was the main factor in how successful and funny any one prank was.

Of course, when you think of your NFH series, pranks were pretty much what made the books… Best wishes!

SORRY in advance but just thought I’d put it out there because my friends say they can’t diet and come to my house. I love snacks and food in general. But I have a saying I don’t go to the gym to look pretty I do it so I can eat what ever I want. I work my but off then go home and eat a pizza really cause I deserve a reward. So my only advice is go work harder than everyone else. I love your books and can’t wait for the next one. I actually have some brilliant idea for books that one day I’ll actually write my self and most of the ideas come on the treadmill. Don’t think about running let your daydreams come and take over before you know it your going farther than you expected. Trust me cause this is coming from the girl who thought gym was waist of time and never finished the mile runs required at school. Who only joined the gym so I could shower without the kids in the bathroom and all the hot water I desired, while I drank my coffee. Cause really who wants a hot water heater that runs out before your coffee gets cold. Good luck, I’m routing for you!

Have an extra cheese stuffed pizza delivered to them or any of their favorite deserts, something they can’t resist. To help you lose, if you like to cook try emilybites.com I’m on Weight Watchers and use her site a lot to find healthy things to cook, it’s really good. Good Luck!

I lost just under 30kgs (60pounds??) over 2 years and am still working at it. One of my biggest tips would be to be honest with yourself. I knew that if I had a craving for something (normally chocolate) I had to have some or else I would let it get out of control and cave, then eat a whole block. I kept some small chocolates around (fun size/ party pack ones) and so if I wanted some I would treat myself to one (or 2). I knew that to be successful I couldn’t do this everyday but sometimes you have to have some chocolate. Sabotaging is easy if you make all of those special things available to the other dieters but just be careful not to over indulge yourself. My partners family is Italian so food is a massive part of their life, it was always hard to ask for a smaller portion or not have seconds. Everyone is now really supportive but the first bit is really hard. Good luck with it 🙂 I feel so much better and have less health issues. It’s great that you are doing it over a year, the best way is slow and steady because you don’t want to bounce right back after a couple of months after doing a fad diet. Keep us updated.

Slip words like chocolate or dessert into your sentences with some stealth. “Oh wow, that dress looks (chocolate) amazing! You have to (ice cream) tell me where you got it!” Post pictures of fattening heaven on their fb pages. Haha, I’m just kidding, I might have to take this to the ladies at my office, we are all trying to get healthy, this would be an awesome way to do it. Good luck and way to go!!! 🙂

Ummm…aren’t you the one who dreamt up the Bradford’s? Surely those voices in your head can come with something appropriate. (or inappropriate as the case may be)

I’ve read your last two posts from April and you seem in much better spirits than when you talked about taking a leave due to medical issues. I’m glad you’re taking better care of yourself and wish you good luck with the weight loss. My sister and I are kind of doing the same thing. We both want to lose weight, and since she lives out of state, we call each other to offer support. As for your news about the new books coming soon, I am absolutely thrilled!!!! Thanks for the updates. I really would like to read more about the Bradfords; this family cracks me up!

Undeniably believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the net
the easiest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely
get irked while people consider worries that they just do
not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well as defined out the whole thing without having side effect
, people could take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.
    Thanks
