Game of Thrones
Part I
An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle
“You’re dead to me!” she heard her oldest son yell and while that would normally be enough to get her out of bed, but not tonight after she’d waited almost two years for this.
Tonight, she wasn’t going anywhere, not without making sure that Jamie was okay.
She’d hoped that she would find out Jamie’s fate last week with the season premiere, but it had simply been a tease, but tonight, tonight she planned on getting some damn answers. With that in mind, Haley shoved another pillow behind her back, grabbed the bowl of Reese’s Pieces off the nightstand, took a sip of her apple juice and-
“You’re grounded!” her husband yelled, making her sigh in annoyance as her eyes darted to the right and noted the time.
Ten more minutes.
“Good!” Cole shot back.
“Go to your room!”
“I am in my room!”
“I swear to god that if you leave this room-”
“What will you do?” Cole shot back, making her sigh heavily as she grabbed a handful of Reese’s Pieces and tossed them in her mouth.
“You don’t want to find out!”
“Oh, but I do. I really do,” Cole taunted back, making her shake her head, knowing that this wasn’t going to end well.
But as long as it ended before Game of Thrones started, she didn’t care.
Nope.
Not at all, she told herself as she sat there, doing her best to block out what was going on out in the hallway even as she couldn’t help but notice that two minutes had gone by since the last time she’d checked the time. Besides, Jason could handle it.
“Wait…what are you doing?” she heard Cole ask only to follow that up with a slight pause and, “Dad? Dad! Daddy? Oh, my god! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean it!”
When the house suddenly went silent, she pushed her glasses back up her nose, sent her closed bedroom door a nervous glance and shifted nervously as she once again told herself that everything was fine. Several minutes and multiple handfuls of Reese’s Pieces later, she reluctantly pushed the covers aside and-
Pulled the covers back over her, hugged the bowl of Reese’s Pieces against her chest, grabbed a handful peanut butter deliciousness, and sat there, watching the familiar introduction that had taunted her for the past seven seasons. When it was over she took a deep breath and sighed with relief when she saw Jamie Lannister on her television waiting to-
“Nooo!” came the resounding cry as Haley sat there, staring at the blank screen, wondering what happened to Jamie when her husband came walking into their room, carrying the modem.
It took her a moment to realize what happened and when she did, she calmly put the bowl down, pushed the covers aside and decided that it was time to explain what happened when someone came between her and the iron throne.
Wow my two favourites GOT and the Bradford’s…….what a combination xx
