Passing Time: Part I
Okay, I’m not going to lie. This Chronicle is late and somewhat short, because I took a nap. It was good….so damn good so I have no regrets damn it!
None!!
Okay, maybe a few, but those mostly have to do with trying to take a nap with two psychotic kittens on the loose, but that’s a lesson learned.
About this week’s Chronicle, it’s a little shorter than normal, but I am going somewhere with this. So, no worries.
Just a heads up, next week I will be releasing the second R.L. Mathewson Newsletter so if you haven’t had a chance to sign up there is still time. I am planning on answering some questions, putting in an exclusive excerpt for The Promise and a giveaway for a (2) $50 gift cards to Amazon.
You can sign up here.
If you won a set of signed books from me, they will be coming soon with a surprise 🙂 I apologize for the insanely long wait. The first set of books that were sent out back in June or July didn’t get where they should have. The set I sent out before that for other winners ended with the same fate so I am looking into alternative shipping methods cause this is getting old.
Now, if you have a question that you’d like answered in the Newsletter or a topic that needs some attention, please email me rlmathewson25@gmail.com or leave a comment at FB.
Thank you,
R.L.
The content in this Chronicle and on this webpage is intended for adults, 18 years and older.
Passing Time
Part I
An R.L. Mathewson Chronicle
“I don’t wanna go,” Zoe mumbled into the couch cushion with a forlorn sigh that she felt didn’t convey just how much she didn’t want to go so she followed it up with a louder, longer drawn out sigh.
“What time are you supposed to be there?” Haley asked from the comfortable leather chair where she was devouring another bowl of brownie batter.
“Now,” she said with a pathetic whimper as she laid, trying to find the motivation to go only to decide that nothing was going to get her off that couch.
Absolutely nothing.
“If you don’t renew your driver’s license you’ll be stuck with the kids,” Haley pointed out and just like that, she found her motivation to get up and spend the next four hours at the DMV.
“Fine,” she grumbled as she sat up, “I’ll go.”
“Yet, you’re still sitting there,” Haley pointed out as she-
“Weren’t you just eating brownie batter?” Zoe couldn’t help but ask as she watched her best friend start in on a party size bag of Doritos.
Nodding, Haley said, “I needed to wash down the batter with something crunchy.”
“I see,” Zoe murmured as she took in the insane amount of junk food covering the coffee table and couldn’t help but sigh.
She really missed being able to whatever she wanted without worrying about getting fat. Okay, fatter, she amended as she helped herself to the jar of edible cookie dough.
“I can’t help but notice that you’re still here,” Haley said, trading the bag of chips for a large Ziploc bag of peanut butter M&Ms.
“I didn’t bring anything with me to pass the time,” she said as she glanced back at the large bookshelf, hoping to find something that she hadn’t read already.
“Nothing new,” Haley said with a shrug. “I’m a book funk.”
“Me, too,” she reluctantly admitted as she resigned herself to spending the next four hours stalking people on Facebook.
Would love to know, on the blog not newsletter, when you will be releasing another book.
It will be announced on the website and through the blog as well. The newsletter is a guarantee that subscribers receive information. For the last few years I’ve counted solely on the website and social media to make announcements, which is great, but it doesn’t reach everyone waiting for information on the next books. The newsletter is a way to make sure that the readers that want information on giveaways, excerpts, book signings, releases, etc. get it. That information will still be released here, but I am trying to make it easier, Sara. I am aiming for a release on The Promise before Christmas if that helps. The first Anger Management book and the next Byte book will follow in 2019. Then I hope to get back to Cursed Hearts, EMS, Hollywood Hearts and the two YA series soon after that 🙂
I have not seen the newsletter yet…am I missing it? Has it been sent?
It was sent out Tuesday night I believe. I could be wrong about that. Let me know if you still haven’t received it? Rlmathewson25@gmail.com and I can forward it to you, Anjie 🙂
